Installation
The P43® can be installed into the tank shell through existing manways without hot-work or at the centre of the tank with hot-work. Feedlines for the P43® can be from existing inlet lines or, alternatively, can be installed separately as a self-contained unit. In side entry applications, the patented design of the unit ensures that the nozzle, directed away from the tank side, is operational.
Application
A dedicated technical team will design a complete tank sludge management system after receiving the parameters: tank capacity, pump specifications, pipeline orientation and size, and crude oil analysis. Analysis can be carried out by our team if required.
When to Use the P43®
The P43® submerged rotary jet mixer is used to prevent sludge accumulations. When installed permanently, the P43® can control sludge efficiently, while operating intermittently. How often depends on the conditions and characteristics of the crude oils. The P43® directs single or opposed jets of crude oil horizontally across the tank, slowly rotating at a programmed rate. This sweeping action across the tank bottom cuts, resuspends and homogenises the valuable hydrocarbons that normally would become trapped in the sludge.
Permanent
For new, clean or gas free tanks, the P43® can be centre-mounted as a permanent installation.
Reliable
The P43® is designed for performance. It is built to exacting specifications and can be installed without needing service for long periods of time.
Cost Effective
Low capital cost.
Reduces tank outage.
No separate power supply required because the P43® utilises energy from the existing import pump.
Maintains maximum storage capacity.
Efficient
Ensures a more uniform feed stock for downsteam processing.
Maximizes recovery of inventory stock.
Improves water draw off.
Eliminates water trapping, which can contribute to corrosion of the tank floor.
Safe
No electricity required.
System contained within the tank.
No static build up.
Intrinsically safe.
Negligible maintenance.

Topographic Survey
A Topographic Survey is an invaluable guide when planning maintenance and scheduling a major tank cleaning task. When faced with the onerous task of cleaning a large diameter crude oil tank, a topographic survey allows you to pursue your chosen route with confidence because with it you can accurately assess the quality and position of the sludge."
